Relationship Issues

In my approach to relationship issues, I draw on Family Systems Therapy,  Lifespan Integration Therapy,  and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to gain the most holistic and truthful perspective on the relationship as possible. I focus on helping individuals understand how family dynamics and patterns of behavior shape their relationships, encouraging appropriate communication and mutual respect. With Family Systems Therapy, we explore roles, boundaries, and the impact of intergenerational influences, aiming to increase self-awareness and promote healthier ways of relating. Through ACT, I guide clients in accepting their emotions without judgment and in aligning their actions with their core values, especially when navigating difficult relationships. Together, these approaches emphasize the importance of self-respect, personal responsibility, and maintaining a safe emotional space, all while empowering individuals to act in ways that honor both themselves and others in their relationships.

Anxiety

In treating anxiety, I use a blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to create a compassionate, gentle approach to healing. In IFS, we explore the different parts of yourself—such as the anxious part—and work to understand their underlying fears and needs. By offering these parts understanding and kindness, rather than judgment, we can begin to unburden them and restore balance. In conjunction with ACT, I help clients practice mindfulness and acceptance, teaching them to acknowledge anxious thoughts and feelings with kindness and without judgement. Together, we focus on cultivating a sense of self-compassion, encouraging clients to treat themselves with the same kindness they would offer a loved one. By gently guiding individuals back into their window of tolerance, we work to increase emotional resilience, allowing them to face anxiety with gentleness, understanding, and a deeper connection to their core values.

Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder

In treating PTSD, I use EMDR Therapy and Lifespan Integration Therapy (LI) to help clients process and integrate traumatic memories in a way that fosters healing and restores a sense of wholeness. We will help you heal by integrating traumatic memories from your amygdala ( stress response center) to the hippocampus(memory center). The goal is to help your body know that you are no longer currently experiencing the trauma and are safe in the present. I use a holistic approach, and encourage clients to care for themselves not only emotionally but also physically, recognizing that trauma affects both the mind and the body. Together, we focus on practices that promote self-compassion, like gentle mindfulness, body awareness, and nurturing healthy routines that support well-being. I also highlight the importance of building supportive, safe relationships, as connecting with others who offer understanding and trust is vital for recovery. Through this compassionate, integrative process, clients can reconnect with their authentic selves, rebuild their sense of safety, and begin to live more fully in the present, free from the grip of past trauma.
